Leven CE (VC) Primary School

Parent Governors

We have 4 Parent Governors.

We currently have one vacancy.

Mrs Georgina Tattum (Geography and History)

Dr Mary Holland (Design and Technology / Science and Computing plus Educational Visits)

I live in the village and have 2 children at Leven School.  I have been a governor for the past 4 years and want to support the local school as best I can.  I have been lecturing in Animal Management at a Further Education College and also working as a disability support worker at the University of Hull so have an understanding of the education system.

Mr Martyn Pottage (Finance and Maths)

Miss Emily Richardson (PE)

I’m Emily, I lived in the village as a child and have returned to the village to raise my children here.  My background has always been in childcare and child development:  I worked as a Teaching Assistant while completing my teaching degree (Primary Teaching with Biological Sciences BSc, first class honours), then worked as a Primary School Teacher for six years before leaving to start a family.  I have worked in Sure Start Children’s Centres for two years, employed by Public Health to try to decrease obesity rates in under fives.  I now work as an Ofsted Registered Childminder, which I have done for three years. I consider myself well trained in Safeguarding and Child Protection: I have completed many safeguarding courses within these roles and I continue to do so. I have also completed Conflict Resolution training and think this helps within the role when conflicts arise. As I am trained as a Teacher but left the profession a few years ago, I can often see both sides of issues that arise within the role of Parent Governor. I think this gives me a balanced view and ensures both sides are brought to the table during meetings.
