Mrs Ruth Eldret (Geography and History)

I’m Ruth Eldret, a parent governor.  I have been a primary school teacher since 2000, when I started my first teaching position in a Bransholme school and  now work in a large inner city school in Hull.  I have taught from Foundation to Year 2 with a range of curriculum and subject leadership roles, including taking on the position of KS1 Phase Leader in 2009 and more recently  the role of SENCO.   I also served as a staff governor at my current school for several years.

I decided to take on a governor position as I felt it was important to have a role in the education of my children and an oversight as to what goes on, in and around the school.  I also wanted to be able to add the voice and perspective of a parent of children in the school to the governing body.

I attended the school after moving to Leven with my family when I was 9 and my parents still live in the village. Although my children have never lived in Leven, it has always been our choice of primary school for them, even though this now means they travel to and from Hornsea every day. I believe this sends a positive message about my feelings for the school and its staff!
